Mrs. Maryrose Omotola Akinsanya formerly Director, Public Advice Centre and now Director, Directorate for Citizens’ Rights in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.

She attended University of Lagos, Akoka where she obtained the LLB degree with honours.  She joined the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in 1984, after her Youth Corps service, as a Pupil Counsel.  She then rose through the ranks to her present position of Director.

Mrs. Akinsanya has been involved in drafting of Bills, amendment of legislative and subsidiary legislations, regulations, orders and rules.  She also prepares Oath papers, Instruments to set up Tribunals and officiates at swearing-in ceremonies of the State government and its MDAs.  Mrs. Akinsanya has attended quite a number of courses including Legislative Drafting Course at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and the International Legislative Drafting Institute at the Tulane University, New Orleans, USA.  She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.  She is married with children and her interests include reading, traveling and meeting people.
